Tom and Rachelle Sanderson are members of our church who spent five years with the Church Mission Society in Uganda. Rachelle was Doctor-in-Charge at Rugarama Health Centre, and Tom worked with local enterprise groups to help establish sustainable economic projects.

They have now returned to the UK and are busy debriefing all of the many churches that supported them whilst in Africa.

Please continue to pray for their safekeeping as they do this and as they adjust back to the routines of school and work in the UK.

Rugarama Health Centre

Rugarama Health Centre provides a wide range of health services in the community, including cataract surgery, maternity and general surgery.

A significant role for Tom and Rachelle was the project management of the design, construction, financing and management of the Health Centre

See Tom and Rachelle’s prayer-mails for insights into their experiences.

Tom worked with the Diocese of Kigezi on a variety of development projects.  These are principally aimed at facilitating sustainable economic and social development.  Techniques include education, establishing co-operatives and micro-credit schemes.  The team also helps rural communities with basic infrastructure such as water-collection, irrigation and sanitation.
